Thank you for your interest in becoming a
Los Angeles Global Shaper!
The Global Shapers Community is a network of city-based Hubs led by young leaders between 20 and 30 years old who want to develop their leadership potential towards serving society. Hubs undertake local projects to improve their communities.
Global Shapers are highly motivated individuals who have a great potential for future leadership roles in society. They are selected on the basis of their achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to make a difference. Through the Global Shapers Community, Shapers are provided with opportunities to connect with the worldwide network of Global Shapers, to network with other World Economic Forum communities, and to represent the voice of youth at World Economic Forum events. Global Shapers are united by a common desire to channel the members’ tremendous energy and enthusiasm into building a more peaceful and inclusive world.
The Los Angeles Hub meets officially once a month, with other optional events. Additionally, members work together to design impactful projects that benefit the local community and work together on broader initiatives with other hubs from around the world. Members are expected to attend at least half of the Hub’s meetings and participate in at least one project under the aegis of the Los Angeles Hub. We are committed to creating a diverse community that unites people from all backgrounds, fields, and perspectives.
To apply you must be:
Under the age of 30 at time of admission to the Hub
Living in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.
Available to commit to monthly meetings and select Hub events and projects
The selection process is very competitive and involves several rounds of Skype and in-person interviews.
On average, 5-10 new Shapers are accepted every year. Individuals who are not accepted due to space or overlapping talents/industries may still be invited to our Friends of the Hub group.
We accept and review applications on a rolling basis and typically admit new Shapers once per year. The 2018 application deadline was on August 30, 2018.
